what is love anyway?

As I bury myself in the warmth of love’s cold shoulder
I remember the old adage; it’s better to have love and lost
See it’s funny to me cause we’re constantly seeking
Something we cant necessarily hold as tangible
Love is a transitory emotion and ‘in’ is in front of it
For that very reason; we’re just too blind to see it
I reminisce on the highs and lows and ponder the “what if”
It’s a joke to me really cause I know my vision is short
And instead of looking for what is right in front of me
I guess I should embrace those I hold dear
And know that love is with me all-day; everyday

this poem just came to me. it's more like thoughts in prose. there is no real rhyme to reason with it and it simply is what it is.

taking into consideration your previous comment...

then this poem is jus like love, cause there's no real rhyme or reason to it and it simply is what it is! :)

i loved it tho'. especially the last 2 lines:

"I guess I should embrace those I hold dear
And know that love is with me all-day; everyday"

that sums it up! AND jus to add another meaning to that last line, WE ARE ALL LOVE because it actually lives inside of us... we simply have to make a conscious decision to let it show and to share it with others.

(i'm so long-winded sometimes, ain't i? lmao)

thank you for sharing this!!

peace, love and BIG hugs...

p.s. FIRST SUKKAS!!! :P

This makes me think of my younger years and how I was looking for love in all the wrong people.

Through my faith, I have experienced a super natural love that that no one or no thing can measure up to. He is with all-day; everyday.

I often ponder the actual meaning of love itself. Is it a feeling? An emotion? A sequence of events? A road of highs and lows? And then I think, isn't life itself all of these? Therefore, am I right to conclude that love is life and life is love?

A nice chunk of philosophical prose, Blu.
Thanks for stopping by.
I've learnt nothing is tangible & that it's better to just live the moment. :-)

I'm glad I waited until I was out of my jaded zone to read this. Very nice and oh so true!

So love is blind?
And if you can be "in", certainly you can be "out" right.

Nice.
