Today I saw beautiful
Today I saw beautiful
I understand that beauty is only skin deep
and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder
but, today I saw beautiful
I know that beautiful is applied to that which gives
the highest degree of pleasure to the senses or to the mind
and suggests that the object of delight
approximates one's conception of an ideal
but, today I saw beautiful...
and it was unpretentious and pure
it followed no societal standard or definition
today I saw beautiful
it was in a form called you
and...
while you may not believe that you’re beautiful
you’re beautiful to me so
when I tell you I saw beautiful
don’t blind my sight or strive to distort my vision
simply concede to knowing that today I saw beautiful and smile

I really adore the line,
"Today I saw beautiful..."
I read somewhere once, Blu that when a writer reads something and says 'why didn't I think of that', than you know that what the other person wrote was really good.
I felt the same just now, reading this line, "Today I saw beautiful..." followed by, "Why didn't I think of that?"
love

Beautifully said, I love this poem
You know what, I'd go as far as to say that's your best thing yet! Today, we've all seen beautiful! Except in Norfolk, I guess, where they only see bootiful. ;)
Thanks to this, I've definitely seen beautiful and even if only for a moment, it put a smile on my face.
H. Jackson Brown once said, "Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye." You my Dear Blu, have a heart that’s sees.
Aww, today i saw jewel, and i have a poem with you in there to
it followed no societal standard or definition...
I love that about beauty. Its so rare and unique, yet its within all of us. And you're right...it can't be defined. That's why its beautiful.
i realized that i didnt thank you all for your comments. i apologize for that.
this is actually an old poem that i came across and it really moved me. probably a little more than when i first wrote it because i know i've grown so much since then. the one great thing about this poem is that i didn't change a word and warms me still.
This is a really pretty poem.
